FDA Seizes Imported Kratom – LEAF OF LIFE BOTANICALS

In May 2021, the corrupt FDA, unduly controlled by Big Pharma, seized a huge amount of kratom.

According to Whole Foods Magazine, the confiscated kratom was worth $1.3 million.

Please be patient with whatever kratom supplier, vendor, or store outlet you buy your kratom from. All kratom providers are having a tough time right now and it keeps getting worse, not better.

Align yourself with kratom activist groups who are telling the truth and trying to stop the atrocity of banning and burning kratom, a beneficial plant in the coffee family. Kratom has been used safely and effectively in Southeast Asia for many generations.

Keep in mind that this aggressive kratom confiscation is crazy to an extreme. Kratom has NOT proven to be a dangerous substance, NO person has died from kratom, and it’s nearly IMPOSSIBLE to overdose on kratom. So why all this anti-science bullying by the FDA?Is it because kratom is increasingly popular and being used for symptoms that Big Pharma sells “medicine” for? Is kratom, along with cannabis, hurting the profits of large pharmaceutical corporations, who seem to have a death grip on US government?

Keep in mind that “substantial concerns” and “serious concerns” are not hard science, it’s just speculation based on rare incidents. There are serious concerns about Oxycontin and Fentanyl and Adderal, but you don’t see the FDA seizeing shipments of those drugs. People who use kratom responsibly never have any bad outcomes, so this is totally ridiculous.

U.S. Marshals, at the request of FDA, have seized more than 207,000 units of dietary supplements and bulk dietary ingredients that are or contain kratom, including over 34,000kg of bulk kratom. Altogether, the seized supplements are worth approximately $1.3 million.

The supplements in question were manufactured by Atofil, LLC, located in Fort Myers, Florida, which is a subsidiary of Premier Manufacturing Products. The supplements are marketed under the brand names Boosted Kratom, The Devil’s Kratom, Terra Kratom, Sembuh, Bio Botanical, and El Diablo.

“There is substantial concern regarding the safety of kratom, the risk it may pose to public health and its potential for abuse,” said Judy McMeekin, Pharm.D., the FDA’s Associate Commissioner for Regulatory Affairs. “The FDA will continue to exercise our full authority under the law to take action against these adulterated dietary supplements as part of our ongoing commitment to protect the health of the American people. Further, there are currently no FDA-approved uses for kratom.”

FDA press release explains that “serious concerns” exist regarding the toxicity of kratom in multiple organ systems, noting that consumption of kratom may lead to respiratory depression, vomiting, nervousness, weight loss, and constipation, as well as other health impacts; kratom withdrawal symptoms may include hostility, aggression, excessive tearing, aching of muscles and bones, and jerky limb movements.

With regards to the present seizure, the U.S. Department of Justice filed a complaint in the U.S. District Court for the Middle District of Florida on behalf of FDA, alleging that kratom is a new dietary ingredient for which there is inadequate information to provide reasonable assurance that it does not present a significant or unreasonable risk of illness or injury; therefore, supplements containing kratom are adulterated under the Federal Food, Drug, and Cosmetic Act.

This is just another in a series of stupid moves by the FDA in their heartless war on kratom and those who reject the Big Pharma solutions to their physical and mental problems.

Former Food and Drug Administration (FDA) Commissioner Dr. Scott Gottlieb spread a silly, spurious, outlandish claim about kratom’s dangers on social media, including a dogwhistle to criminalize kratom users and to obstruct access to kratom for those who suffer from opioid use disorder (OUD).

“I’m convinced [kratom is] fueling the opioid addiction crisis,” Gottlieb posted on Twitter in May 2021, followed by demanding that the Biden Administration finish the Drug Enforcement Administration’s (DEA) 2016 scheduling effort that failed in the face of consumer advocacy and public opposition.

Scott Gottlieb and the FDA obviously care nothing about the opioid pandemic they helped cause, by their pushing Oxycontin and other risky narcotics on people who sought pain relief. Thousands of people die each month from Big Pharma drugs, but not a single person has been killed by kratom.

Persecution of kratom is getting completely bizarre. It points to a bitter, greedy industry that wants to shut out all alternatives to their prescription drugs. They hate natural substances so much, they want to keep everyone away from them, so they can sell more of their garbage.

Big Pharma seems hell-bent on forcing everyone to use only their crappy products for pain, anxiety, depression, fatigue, and other medical issues. How many of these FDA-approved pharmaceutical products have been taken off the market, because they were actually killing or horrible damaging people? How safe is anything coming out of Big Pharma?

We are in a battle for survival kratom-wise. Please understand the difficulties that kratom vendors are experiencing and do what you can to help counteract the gross disinformation campaign being waged against mitragyna speciosa.
