Prenatal Yoga! | Red Earth Wildcrafted

I have been leaning heavily into my yoga practice, and relatedly my teaching practice during this last year and more. I’ve been able to grow my confidence as a teacher at Aspire Yoga Center, and i’m excited to announce that I am adding Prenatal Yoga into the mix!

Yoga was incredibly important to me during my pregnancies, and definitely contributed to a more positive mental attitude in that I LOVED being pregnant, both times. Although the second pregnancy was a little harder, because I was older mostly, overall I felt good in my body and I know that yoga helped. In 2011 when I found out I was expecting Amethyst, it was in the middle of a kundalini yoga teacher training! With Rosemary, I didn’t have that built in community but I did make an effort to seek out videos and short courses and also relying on my own practice to build a solid prenatal yoga practice.

During my first few months teaching at Aspire, I had two pregnant students and to be honest I felt really nervous and out of my depth. I hope those women still had an enjoyable practice those days, but immediately I knew I needed to get a little more training and when I came across Mamata Yoga’s 25 hour prenatal yoga teacher training I knew that it was a great fit for this first step.

I’ve had a lot of interest in prenatal yoga classes, and I am excited to announce that I am holding my first ever Prenatal Yoga 6 week series at Aspire Yoga Center! This session starts December 2, and runs on Friday evenings at 6 pm.
